How to Keep Your Enclosure in Perfect Condition.

Pool enclosures bring many benefits to pool owners, such as extending the swimming season, protection against adverse weather conditions, and reducing water maintenance costs. However, to fully utilize these advantages, it is important to regularly maintain the pool enclosure. Proper maintenance ensures a long lifespan, smooth operation, and an aesthetic appearance of the enclosure. Here is a guide on how to do it:

1. Cleaning
  • Do not use high-pressure water (“pressure washer”) on the enclosure; instead, use only a gentle stream of water, such as from a garden hose.
  • We regularly clean the tracks from impurities (using the flow of water and a soft brush) to prevent any damage to the wheels of the moving parts.
  • During the winter months, when snow accumulates on the roofing, we regularly remove the top layer of snow. We do not recommend moving segments if the snow on the roofing is frozen. This could lead to damage to the sealing rubber or fillings.
  • Under no circumstances should you use sharp tools! For cleaning, we only use clean water, or alternatively, a soapy cleaning solution applied with a clean sponge or a soft cloth.
  • We do not use products that contain solvents (such as gasoline, acetone, alcohol, etc.).
  • Sunscreen lotions and oils must not come into contact with the polycarbonate filling. They could cause permanent damage to it.

2. Manipulation
  • When we intend to manipulate the roofing, we always ensure that there are no foreign objects (such as branches, stones, leaves, etc.) along the entire length of the tracks. If there are any, they must be removed.
  • Moving individual segments of the roofing should always be carried out by 2 persons. Each person grasps the segment from each side at the handle points.
  • After completing the movement of segments, remember to lock each segment in place.
  • We recommend rinsing the polycarbonate sheets with a stream of water before moving, especially if the segments haven’t been handled for a while. This reduces the risk of scratching the fillings, as there is sealing rubber between the segments that comes into contact with the fillings during movement.

In case of strong winds, check if all the locks are secured in the tracks, and ensure that the front parts are secured with all the pins! Also, make sure to secure all doors and other openings (hinged doors, flaps, windows, sliding doors).

3. Maintenance
  • Individual locking mechanisms and door hinges need to be lubricated with silicone oil twice a year. Be careful to prevent the oil from coming into contact with the polycarbonate filling.
  • In the pool, it is necessary to maintain the levels of free and combined chlorine between 0.4 – 1 mg/l and the pH value between 7.2 – 7.6. If these values are not adhered to, it can lead to oxidation of stainless steel and aluminum components.

For case of damage caused by weather conditions or vandalism, we recommend getting the roofing insured!
